Brendan you're a great caller, unlike Gaston I listen or at least I think I did at Cayuga.
You're funny Dave and you're right, if I would have listen all summer, I'd probably be moving to unlimited by now...or maybe not

Re: Funfly at the Keswick Field

While at the Keswick field last Sunday, we put together a Great Hobbies Mini IMAC challenge. Thank You Great Hobbies!!

Here are the official results from the contest and congratulations to all who flew. Thank you also to our critical judges for all their hard work and dedication (it doesn't hurt to suck up to your judges)

The four maneuvers were 1: roll, 2: 1/2 cuban 3: hammer 4: loop

Scoring was from 4 to 1 (4 being perfect, 3 pretty good, 2 Eh!, and 1 Yuck)

I couldn't remember the actual descriptions so that was close enough.

Judge 1, Round 1:

Glen Lundrigan: 2,2,3,3
Paul Fowler: 3,3,3,3
Dave Woon: 3,3,2,3
Paul McMillan: 4,4,3,3
Gaston B: 3,3,4,3
Gary Ho Sue: 3,3,2,2
Tim Petsehe: 2,2,1,3

Judge 2, Round 1:

Glen Lundrigan: 2,2,3,3
Paul Fowler: 3,3,3,3
Dave Woon: 3,2,3,3
Paul McMillan: 4,3,3,3
Gaston B: 4,3,3,3
Gary Ho Sue: 3,3,2,2
Tim Petsehe: 2,2,1,3

Judge 1, Round 2

Glen Lundrigan: 3,3,4,3
Paul Fowler: 3,3,1,2
Dave Woon: 3,3,3,3
Paul McMillan: 4,4,3,3
Gaston B: 4,3,4,3
Gary Ho Sue: 3,3,3,2
Tim Petsehe: 3,1,1,3

Judge 2, Round 2:

Glen Lundrigan: 3,3,4,3
Paul Fowler: 3,2,1,2
Dave Woon: 3,2,2,3
Paul McMillan: 4,3,3,3
Gaston B: 4,4,4,3
Gary Ho Sue: 3,3,3,2
Tim Petsehe: 2,1,1,3

I hope I have all the names correct.

The competition was too tough for me so I didn't fly myself.

Actually, I was calling for all of the pilots (Is it only me or has anyone else noticed a trend here when it comes to events and me calling?) It is fun and rewarding to call and help a pilot fly well. The only drawback is calling for Gaston as he refuses to listen to his caller.

Great job to all an see you on the circuit next year.

We may even see a full contest at Keswick.

Re: Funfly at the Keswick Field

To the gang at Keswick, a big thank you for a fun day. What better way to round out the season than with a fun-fly.

I was really impresses with both the enthusiasm toward IMAC and talent of the pilots that tried the routine.

I had a great day myself and as with all events, I find there is usually one or two memorable things that happen.

Rob's glider landing with the 6 inch clearance over the berm was one and the overall enthusiasm there was the second.

I hope we can work a contest into the future as it would be a great place to fly and as Rob pointed out, it is also very central for a large majority of us.

Thsnks again

Re: Funfly at the Keswick Field

Paul,
Thank you for hosting this event. Had a lot of fun and thank you to the northern boys for the coaching especially Gaston for cheerleading and the words of inspiration. Indefinitly will try at least 1-2 contests next year. My wife noticed the smile on my face moreso than usual. I showed her my trophy. That got me the blessing to try the contests next year. Thanks MACHZ for lending me your plane and futaba 14MZ. Who new a maiden flight turned into a first place win.... Lol

Re: Funfly at the Keswick Field

On behalf of the Keswick Model Aircraft Club, I want to thank everyone that attended today's funfly. The weather cooperated, even if the wind was blowing a bit... The mini imac competition was fantastic, and the instructions regarding judging and controlling the aircraft through the manoeuvers was very impressive. The precision of those big IMAC birds is really something to see, I enjoyed the day immensely.

The best part really was meeting new pilots.

We will definitely be doing this again!
