No thanks. Have an ice-cream pail of brushed motors that I lost interest in after I tried my first brush-less!

Never bought the plane. Always thought the Sig Senorita had more to offer in a plane that size.
The Senorita is head & shoulders above a Mirage 550 in all aspects except possibly in portability. Looking for something that will fit easier in the wife's Jetta for the long trips (4 of us + luggage). Think the Mirage just might fit on the parcel shelf behind the back seat!

The Senorita is still a favorite of mine, it has 8 years experience with 2 covering jobs, tested 2 glow & 4 electric power plants & even an alternate wing configuration! See Odd & Unusual thread, the rogallo wing one.

Do you mean the motor? Or the whole plane?
Thanks for the info on power plant sizing.

Mervin,

I think it came with a Mabuchi 550 brushed motor. You would need a 30 Amp ESC brushed
controller or you could go with a 26mm brushless motor and a 25A esc. An 8 x 4 or 9 x 6 prop would be your target load.
Let me know if you want a 550

Anyone remember the Carl Goldberg 550? Ran across the plans last night looking for something else. Forgot about that one, decent performer back in the brushed motor/nicad days! Had a Astro .05 geared with 7 cells in mine.

I think it would work very well on LiPo/brushless technology, no mods needed apart from the fire wall! Hmmm! Think I still have the wing & maybe a spare cowl...

Anyone done one lately?
