Re: Japanese marine

Oh and Bill- showing us is one thing- I like reading the little tidbits of info and history of each engine, so dont forget to give us the details along with the pictures. Like the thread with the adjustable prop- you show us a picture of a 4 stroke gasoline engine that looks OLD but dont tell us anything about it.. Damn you!!! (j/k)

But seriously.. tell us abut it

The previous owner has stuff in his collection that you cannot believe!!

Re: Japanese marine

I cant believe that would be a 1942 engine. How did it survive the war? Japan was in the middle of WWII and having no natural resources, metals were scarce.

That such a beautiful model engine was made in 1942 is astounding
That it was made in Japan during wartime when rationing was no doubt in effect is amazing
That is survived the war and did not get confiscated to be smelted into raw materials for the war effort is unbelievable.

That must be a very rare engine, eh Bill?

Re: Japanese marine

For 1942 that engine looks amazing. I really like the cooling shroud. It looks ahead of it's time!

Japanese marine

This is an early about 1942 TMY marine engine but could be used as a stationary engine as well. Not sure of the displacment yet. Rear metal fan and shroud for cooling and a nicely chromed fuel tank with a couple of minor dingers.
