In the meantime, our guys here have gone to LARGE, gas-powered outdoor beasties, which we hope to get into the air where they belong, once the Emergency Restrictions are lifted.

Not sure who your beastie boys are but I absolutely know our gas burner crowd flies indoor foamies and nobody has given up on the next season or a nice calm evening in the backyard.
In tribute to Gaston I do not fly my Sbach, Axis and Arrow, they remain in flight hanging from my ceiling.

We lost our indoor site and so that pretty much cancels my need to keep these .

My yak is at least several flying seasons old. I remember taking one of Gaston’s Yaks out of his trash can in his shop in Sudbury, fixing it up with some more carbon and glue and flying it for another season.

They are durable!

We fly in a single gym in a middle school. Pretty small but a lot of fun. I can loop and do some rolling turns, etc but mainly do a lot of hovering, high alpha flight and Cubans. Avoiding the drones too lol.

I have to come down one weekend and fly with you guys in the gym.

I flew my buddies Arrow (maiden) last night. What a pussycat, my gawd! Even nicer than the his Axis. I miss Gus. So happy Hugh that you have carried on his legacy.

Damn! Flew the Sbach this afternoon... great combo with the Axi. The plane is super stable, maneuverable and hovers much easier than the Yak. Had a blast today. 12 minute flights with the 500 mAh packs.

I tried the small drones.. the fixed wing is just so much better to me

Re: Blue Foamie

I got the manual from Hugh - built one of the Sbach’s today. I have been off sick for a few days and coughing like mad so I stayed home. Hope to test fly next weekend.

I wonder how it flies VS the Yak. I remember way back when we were flying the Click, and I switched to the Yak. I am not familiar with the later planes Gaston was making/selling since I was not active the last few years before he passed away.

I put an AXI motor on this one - will hover at 1/2 throttle in the house. Aftert flying my beat to hell Yak the past year a newly built blue foamy should be a treat! I should put another Yak together too.. maybe this week.
