Re: Top Flight paint

I have a very good supply of Lustrekote which I bought for my own use. Depending on what colors you need and how much you need I may be able to help you out. I am in LLoydminster if you are up to the drive. Let me know if this helps

Not surprised, Some do that, I think the secret would be a light coat, avoid pilling it on.

Mervin,

I've read at least a couple of rc forum accounts that Lustercote clear darkens when exposed to UV.

Re: Top Flight paint

Local is a bit of a misnomer out here. Local in both cases would be 2 to 3 hours drive away as is Canadian tire!

It's a big country out here Jean.

The next issue then becomes business hours. I leave home at 6:00 AM and get back home on a good day between 6 and 7:00 PM, 12 days on and 2 off. Not many businesses in the city have hours compatible with that by the time I drive 2 or 3 hours to get there.

That means the only practical option for hobby shopping is on line or phone in outlets. So you see why I get upset when I'm fed a load of tripe from people that really don't have any interest in their job past the pay check!

Thanks for the ideas and your interest. I will check it out next days off.

Your local autoshop can mix for you a can of your color and add hardeners in it that will resist like a car's paint.
I did it a couple of times
Or you can put Cdn Tire auto paints with clear after.

For a fuel proof, and nitro proof coating over water-based paints, Michaels stocks a spray on clear, Americana product, in gloss or satin. Stinks, but dries super quick, and works exceedingly well.
