Re: Towerpro 2409-18 Brushless

My bearings came. 4 pieces for 5 bucks. I put one in and for $1.25 the motor is as good as new.

Re: Towerpro 2409-18 Brushless

Thanks I got the notice too. I already ordered a 2410 from somewhere else though. I also have new bearings coming so I'm going to repair my original one hopefully.

Sounds like you've got it sorted out bugsmasher.

If you eventually need a replacement motor, the PowerUp 450 Sport from HeadsUpRC is good choice.

It's a bit more powerful and weighs a few grams more. But the construction is far better than the TowerPro's could ever hope to be! Nice big rear bearings that don't wear out, and the wiring is far less prone to breaking as it's supported by the enclosed motor case.

Jeff at HeadsUpRC is a great guy to buy from. I have at least a dozen orders with him and shipping to Canada is not an issue.

Re: Towerpro 2409-18 Brushless

Thanks guys. I pulled out the outer case of the old bearing and it's definitely 8x4. I found bearings on EBAY I'm about to order. 4 psc for a little less than $5 so I will have spares.

Re: Towerpro 2409-18 Brushless

Hey bugsmasher,

I have some bearing oil if you want. It's a fresh bottle, 30ml, enough for a lifetime. A bit of lube can go a long way to prolonging bearing life.

PM me, all I want is shipping costs for it.

non-flanged version is the one you want. You should be able to take some measurements of the bearing recess for dimensions. The front bearing is usually bigger BTW. Unless you've crashed, they last a pretty long time.

One final note, don't allow the bell/rotor to 'crash' against the motor stator when you re-install it. You can damage the front bearing this way.

Disassembled 2410-09Y:

The smaller bearing is the rear one! They are pitifully small and take all of the thrust loads. No wonder they don't last.
