Re: Spektrum DX9 Blank Screen??? Quick update, since I have been flying almost daily in Arizona for a month. Using my DX9 with no SD card installed (using the SD card only for model backup now). I switch between 3 models every flight session (6 batteries each), with 18 flights in total, cycling between two MCPX-BLs and a 450L. It starts up perfectly and switches quickly between models. Not one issue at all...period. I love my DX9! The secret - keep the SD slot empty or pony up for a quality card. Personally, I don't see the need to have a card permanently installed. |

Re: Spektrum DX9 Blank Screen??? I love my dx9, have not had any issues updating sorry you have. One thing you have in your favor is Horizon ! For a $25 canada post trip they will take care of the issue or replace the radio. |

Re: Spektrum DX9 Blank Screen??? I have a brand new DX9 received Aug 4th 2015. I just went to updat4e the firmware from 1.01A to 1.07 using the supplied SD card and got the white screen. After reading this thread I turned the DX9 off and on again three times until it began to auto-update. The screen flashed off and the progress bar ran from the start several times, getting closer to complete each time. After about 5 auto-loads, it completed the task and rebooted. I then uploaded the new sound file and my tx has been perfect ever since. No need for a new card. Just a little patience. I hope this helps future DX9 buyers. |

I enjoy using the radio and it suits me needs to the fullest right now. I just wanted to see if others had the same issues. What brand of SD did you put in it? I want to buy a new SD card this weekend and just not sure which brand to buy? Thanks. Scott |

Yes my issue was caused by the supplied SD card. However, simply removing it did not fix the problem. Also, the card is not broken or "bad media" and works fine in both my computers and camera, the radio is picky about which SD cards it will read for some reason...this is fact. And more importantly, when it tries to read a card and can't it stops working for some reason, even after removing the card. From what I read about the radio pre-purchase, Horizon was initially telling everyone to send their radios back when this happened. Since then, people have figured out that re-installing the system software from a different card is the fix...wonderful, unless you have a "bricked" radio and don't have quick access to another SD card. This thread was started by a guy that had to send his radio back to Horizon because it was bricked. In response, 4 people including myself and the guy with the DX18 have said they had similar problems. Just because yours hasn't given you an issue doesn't mean that's true for everyone. I just hope to not have issues with it down the road. $500 is a lot of money to me and I hope that I got some decent quality for it. I thought I was contributing to this thread in a constructive manner...I didn't intend to get anybody's panties in a knot, so if I did please accept my sincerest apologies!
