Re: Must be bad karma

Having the plane prewrecked sure takes the stress off the maiden and did fly well after all. Oh and Bill I made a launcher today at work and also bought some cord and rings.Should have bungee made up soon(no more crazy hand launch)

Re: Must be bad karma

I did get to fly the Sbach and the slick an few times but not the jet. But I do have the slick and Sbach ready to fly again tonight, though they don't look like new any more(oh well). The f-18 I am going to glue back together and just fly it and if it won't fly now no loss it was wrecked anyhow. The upside now is I don't have to frett about putting the first scratch on it now He He!

Wind gusts like that spring up all the time, but it sucks when a trashmover rolls through the pits and trashes your models (yes, I realize the pun and it's the best way of describing what happened.....)

When I was in the Mississauga model flying club, we had a guest speaker, essentialy a forensic weatherman. Yes, CSI and all that stuff.

One incident that he described was a transport truck that crashed off of the QEW on what looked like a clear day, even the roads were dry by the time that the OPP arrived on scene, but the driver was adamant that it was high winds and heavy rain that took his truck off the road.

Turns out that when our speaker got involved, the first thing that he checked was the detailed weather radar coverage of the location and timeframe of the accident.

Sure enough, very small, very intense squall appeared, rolled over the QEW and then dissipated. All in less than five minutes, but long enough to give the transport driver the story of a lifetime.

Take it all home and start putting it together after you've had a chance to relax. Bring it back soon. Only downside is that you didn't get a chance to maiden them.

Re: Must be bad karma

What blew is that all of the aircraft were new,my first foray into elecric fixed wing. But even a few days after it was still amazing how fast and stong that was.
