Re: Rebuild after being shot down I went through something similar a few years ago. Had an elbow infection that progressed so quickly during the May 24 weekend started to get pretty concerned. Went through over a week of in hospital I.V. antibiotics and drain tape replacement, (NOT FUN!) with more than 2 at home for the same treatment with a pump and daily visits. The infection finally subsided, but the end result was a warning not to expose to direct sunlight for quite a while. Put the dampers on that seasons flying, (among a lot of other enjoyments). Could not even watch my friends fly, although I don't know if that would have been less depressing. Keep the faith that things will get better. Just think, all those models won't rust away and with minimal care will be ready when you are. |

Unfortunately my hands have not being functioning very good lately and the flying of the pup, had to be put on hold, in the last few months I had to have carpel tunnel surgery on both paws.then one ended up getting badly infected.and waiting so long for the surgery , ended up with some of my fingers going numb...and to not fly this summer yet has taken its toll on me...it is like looking at my planes on a daily basis and wondering , just wondering ,, what might be............... |

Re: Rebuild after being shot down She lives another day to tell another story, or two...She will now have ensignia, on the pilots side of a submarine. this will signify that it has done under water duties.. And the pilot will be sporting, a shiny new life preserver, weather he flies strickly over land or not... Come on guys.. you have to find humor in this hobby sometimes , cause the planes are getting more expensive every day,,, Two years ago I watched a video of a guy , with a smashed plane in a half ton coming back from a crash,, he was sitting there crying,,if that happens to YOU, it is time to stop flying , and take up chess or checkers,,, Flying still has to be fun!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Rebuild after being shot down "The full scale Camel had a wind driven fuel pump. That's a replica pump and prop. The prop is a 1/2A prop and really turns in flight' COOL! 'The pump was necessary because the petrol tank was located behind the pilot's seat.' NOT SO COOL!
