Re: Will this effect flight? That's better I bought a new cowl, but I'm going to see how good a job I can do fixing this one. |

Re: Will this effect flight? This is how it looked before the engine stalled just as I pulled into position to do my first "low" prop hang for the crowd.... Flew great!! |

Re: Will this effect flight? The right-down thrust should be correct. Pilot sent me new wood for the motor box, but I had to make a new firewall to mount the engine to. I used the old one as a template. I noticed the top right mount is riding on the washer of the other bolt so I'll fix that, but to make it look centered in the cowl I would have to make a new firewall & move the engine to the edge of the box. Yes Dale be nice to get out flying! Lots of time off, but busy with house projects & fishing charters! Trying to get out today for couple hours, but just to the electric field. Next weekend going to the big airpark to get this one back in the air & maiden mt EXTRA |

Re: Will this effect flight? My solution would be to glue a new firewall in front of the present one with the proper right thrust and the prop shaft lined up with the centre line. |

Re: Will this effect flight? When mounting a motor with no reference lines I get the fuse standing vertical. I use masking tape to secure the wing tube and landing gear to the stair case railing and spindles. With the stab tube shimmed up with books so the rudder is out of the way. This way you can go up stairs and place the motor in position put the cowel on and adjust until your happy, carefully remove cowel and mark your holes. If needed cut a pencil down to one inch long for easy reach. |

Re: Will this effect flight? The real question is, is that how much right thrust there is? Or is there no offset thrust and the engine is just that much off center? Or is it a combination of the two? |

Re: Will this effect flight? Channing. Is this due to a new firewall, with the right amount of offset. Just the motor installed in the center of the airframe, causing the drift off center? If you duplicated the original offset, I would fly the darn thing. I believe you are trying to get as much airtime as you can when off ship. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3 |

Re: Will this effect flight? If you can, take the time to shim the engine back to where it was before the prang. If you leave it the way it is you will have all sorts of problems with vertical lines and loop tracking. |

Re: Will this effect flight? Yep you are going to have problems trimming that out. |
