Re: Good Park Flyer

I'll throw my 2 cents in here...get one of the 32" Crack Series planes from Twisted Hobbies/RC Factory. I have a couple, the MXS-C is my favorite. I run a 7 channel LemonRX stabilizing Rx in mine and fly them in winds up to 15 or 20km/h. It's fun flying backwards harriers with them!

DualSky Breeze Mini

OK, I've got a video of my EPP indoor plane, which is DualSky's 24-in Breeze Mini, a little bigger than the UMX Extra but smaller than a typical 3D indoor plane. You can see a DualSky Extra 330SC Pro in the video, which is made of depron and of the normal size. Notice at 2:18, there is a high-speed nose-dive crash, but there seems no damage to the plane. EPP planes are called "unbreakable" for a reason.

If you want small and durable, try this one:

Parkzone Extra 300

It is a little quirky, but if you have the skills, it is a great little plane. Will do anything you throw at it. and it is perfect for the ballpark!

I have to admit I may like it too much, so you're right! But now tell me, you must have crashed it a few time if you flew it all winter long. Yes, it does break, but a little foam safe C.A. and you're back in the air in no time. For me, when an airplane is fragile, you worry about flying it and worst about transporting it. That's not the case with the Extra... The only thing that was worrying me was mid-air collision, but even that, it's not so bad (again that mylar is doing a good job stopping propellers before they do too much damage)

I also regularly fly it outside though I have to admit that you have to wake up early to get a nice no wind day this year. It does look fragile, but it isn't. Sure, the foam break, but you just glue it back together, and keep flying. It's the mylar that is truly holding this plane together so well.

No matter what, with indoor planes, quite often you damage them more often just carrying them around (the bigger they are, the more often you close a car door or a trunk on them or simply hit it while opeining a gym door). Another neat thing with the Extra is that once it's in it's carrying box, it's safe.

But sure enough, if I had to suggest a large indoor airplane, I would go with the local economy myself, instead of far east. I can tell you that even if I hate carrying it around, even if it does need at least a single court gym but ideally two court size gym to fly, this one is absolutely awesome and the kits are made right here in Canada! (P.S.: I've already been teasing Gaston to start making sub 20 inch kits just for me)

Hi Real Gambler,

I am sorry that I gave you an impression that I didn't like your baby. I like it. In fact, I've been flying the Extra all winter, but still, it's designed as an indoor plane and you need a box to protect it.

I've flown the Piaget even longer and been more carefree with it. And it's in Canada now. Take a look here:http://www.wattaplane.com/shop/shopd...Outdoor+Flying You can find many good choices of park-fly 3D planes there.

For outdoor flying, I would start with something with at least 200+ gram AUW such as TECHone Piaget. I flew this plane before. It was so easy to fly and so durable that I had to give it away in order to try something else. (This plane is way-easier to hover than the Extra, outdoor and indoor.)
