Re: Helppppppp

I think the rubbing has shaved the pad down slightly.. I dont think its touching anymore lol.. Its running pretty nice right now! Just hard to get started due to the damn cold!!
Anyone know where I can get good led lights? Im planning on adding leds in the 2 headlights that are on the front bumper. I need them to be able to hook up to my receiver (CH3). Im trying to bling the truck up a little... Specially now that my Dodge Ram body is pretty much done!! Any good links where I could shop around.. Checking out tower hobbies at the moment!!

So I discided to go the easy route and picked up a 49T Spur today and everything worked out great! Except it still seems like it was still touching the brake pad... Now im talking maybe a hair, started driving the truck slowly and did notice it grinded my pad barely.. see a little white ring around the pad..
Dont think it will hurt anything now!!!
Thanks for all the help guys...
Glad to hear your makin progress. You should try ge more clearance tho,if it is rubbin on bell,it will create a little heat and cause slippage on shoes of further probs. Maybe try shim eng up a little higher,or just take some sandpapper and shave disk down a little where its rubbing.

47T spurgear by the way
its not possible for the brake pads to touch bell. Are you sure you have the rite pitch on the new bell gears? If you are running a 47 spur, you dont have enough adjustment to run a 16 bell. You will need to pull out the dremel and open the holes on eng plate for more adjment. And fyi,the eng mount plates are weak and crack too so only dremel as much as you need and not much nore. Good luck

Re: Helppppppp

what size SG? you might have to grind out the engine plate to be able to get the engine close enough to the SG. but if the mesh is "loose" i don't see how it would bind up... are you 100% sure its the gear mesh and not somewhere else?

also if you posted on the savage forum you will get more help then just me.... the guys over there can help a hole lot more then just me as i am pretty new still myself.

Ok, this whats going on.. I just finished installing alum. cutchshoes and I went from a 17T Bell to a 16T Bell.. Everything worked out great. Even replaced my brake pads. Took the tranny out replaced the pads and put the tranny back in.. So now im trying to get the perfect space between the Bell and the spurgear, its not working out for me at all.. Even doing the paper trick! Keeps grinding and when I push the truck back its locking up... Spur gear and Bell move freely.. I know its the lash between the gears.. Seems to me I cant get the engine close enough to the spurgear. Seem like there is alot of space in between... Is there a special mod that needs to be done when going to a smaller clutch bell? Never had any problems when I had the 17T Bell!!!

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!
