Previous post edited. I forgot that I use Tygon for my clunk line. I always try to use the biggest tygon possible to minimize the possibility of a collapse.

What do you use inside the fuel tank for tubing?

Re: Turbine newb with k-80 flameouts...

With a small turbine that is burning 8 or 10 oz per minute this probably wouldn't be an issue but I have read about some tygon collapsing under load due to suction. Personally, I only use Tygon for the fill line that attaches to the top of the UAT and the clunk line. I use Festo everywhere else and double lock wire every connection with SS soft wire. A lot of guys however have had success using Tygon with the smaller turbines. I know when Tygon heats up in the summer, it can get really soft. The age of the fuel lines in the fuel system is more important than the amount of use imho.

I don't used much Tygon at all but used to replace my Tygon lines every year, have since started using Exelon? and don't change yearly now. I use 4 mm festo type line wherever I can, saves lots of problems.

Personally, as I mentioned before, I would do a complete replumb of the system so you know what you have. As you stated, you are not the original owner and it has lots of flights, likely time for a bit of preventative maintenance.

Lots of good advice from the others in this thread.

Good luck....ron

Yup...I thought the same thing at first but it works. I wished the manufacturer(s) would start putting 4mm barbed fittings on the pumps. It is ridiculous.

And although i call it tygon, it does seem more rubbery or "silicone-y" than tygon, closer to neoprene, except not black.

I will look at the pump fittings again, but i don't think 4mm Festo line will fit directly onto the pump fittings. The way it is reduced is by sliding brass tube inside the 4mm festo, then inserting all of that inside the silicone tubing, then tie wired. See picture one in my above posts.
Sounds like a re-plumb might be a good option with some good genuine festo 3mm, 4mm and 6mm line. It would only cost you about 15$...cheap insurance and you know it is done right.

But it is definitely tygon in the tanks and from tank to uat, kev
