Stalker One more bit of advice would be to loose the Dean's connectors. You will probably draw too much current from them and end up de-soldering one or completely melting it... you don't want your LiPo's shorting out like that!

imported_Whitey OK so I took out the front drive shaft and there is no pin in it. I thought it would be one piece, not pin that could fall out. I guess I`ll see if my MT2 drive shaft would work for the time being.

imported_Whitey Well I though I'd give an update to where I am at. So it took me awhile to solder the dean connectors to the 8 guage turnigy wire. I finally finished that this weekend. I went and picked up some industrial strength Velcro for the ESC and other components. I was all excited that I finally will be able to drive the car after just under a month of it being in my posession. So I go to run it and it doesn't move fast. It seems to move ok with tires on the ground, but as soon as there is pressure it slowly starts off. Also, the fron tires don't move at all. It seems like the front drive shaft is stripped? Or it doesn't have the nobbies. I am about to take it apart to look at what is wrong. I was hoping everything was going to go smoother, but I guess it's part of the hobby. I'll enjoy it that much more as soon as I get to drive it.

My motor took a dump two laps into the second qual. It was on it's last legs I think anyway.

Stuck around for pretty much the rest of the day anyway...

I'll be back for Race 2 with a new power plant.

Guest If your getting the CT 80w, keep your receipt. When the tip burns up, take it back and get a replacement iron. I'm on my third iron now. They last a lot longer when your not building battery packs and hard wiring your pack though. LIPO is great

imported_Whitey Thanks for your help guys. I will go buy a solder iron tomorrow.

Kevin answered this.

Also, I need to install deans connectors to my batteries. Do most people do this themselves, if so is it pretty simple? All you need us basic soldering skills, but like Kev said, be carefull. You shouldn't need to hold the iron to the wires for more than 5 sec

Does anyone use the Turnigy batteries? If so, how did you modify the battery tray?
I use the Turnigy 5200mah 30C. I cut off both posts on the battery tray and cut a slot in the end for the battery wires. I then cut a total of 4 slots in the sides near the bottom of the tray close to the ends to use straps to secure the battery.
