So a ST 2500 was swapped in and that was much better! That was until I had an engine failure and ended up landing downwind in a plowed field at the KW scale rally. It is still in the basement partially fixed up. I really should finish the repair and get it going again. I will probably put a modern 30cc engine in it. With a 50 it will be a rocket!
Hi, I appreciate your post especially the VT Tempest flying qualities as I was looking at the plans yesterday and saw +2 degrees incidence on the wing and horizontal tail and thus wonder how this model flew. Hope to see more posts on your rebuild. cheers - ken

That's the great part of building a Tempest; that giant 'Leno' like chin makes it easy to completely hide the engine in the cowl!

Re: Looking for: Hawker Tempest plans / parts

a small update, I did find a set of 80"ws Tempest by Vito Tomeo on RCC, it's a nice size however the canopy and cowl are not availiable for these plans ( circa 1980's) and our falling dollar makes buying the Sepp Uiberlacher's plans and parts off Traplet USA much more expensive and I have not found these parts by Sepp in any for sale ads so far.

I've tooks some photos of how a DL50 and a Brison 2.4 would fit on the Tomeo plans.

Now I'm looking for a profile of a Canadian pilot that flew Tempest so I can model his paint scheme.

Either the Tomeo or Sepps will not be started until Nov 2016....... cheers - ken

The Vailley Tempest would be grand, a flying buddy has a Vailley Typhoon, impressive model, but that size is a bit to big for me, hoping to find a used set of plans for around 80". Cheers. Ken

Way too small! lol Go for the Vailley Aviation Tempest, 8 foot wingspan, 3.7 - 4.2 gas!
