Re: Goodbye DSM?

.... I use a tried and true method of equipment selection. Only one question needs to be asked:

Which one can I get at a better price?

Really don't care about the Chevy vs Ford junk. Started with JR cause that's what the local hobby shop sold. Have stuck with it through 72 and now 2.4 with no problems. Looking at the new Spektrum Radios with some telelmetry features I may want down the road............ at a much better price............. probably go that route eventually, but not in any rush. My 9303 is a couple years old now and I hope to get decade of use out of it.
........anyone wishing to fall prey to marketing and panic and want to dump their DSM2 receivers for dirt cheap, drop me a line.

...Futaba FAAST???

Apparently the 2.4 spectrum was overloaded?
It was rumored the event will have to go back to radio impound to prevent this happening again(?)
Anybody have the scoop on this?
Yep, bet Shui wishes he had a couple of satellite receivers in his UF! Futaba guys make fun of them all the time but, brand F's 2 little antenna's can be blocked by engine/ heat / fuel/ etc. The satellites can be positioned so that at least one is always available.

Yes, it was first on the market but is not in the lead as far as a sucessful design.

Oh well, to each his own.
..that's correct, to each his own.

..all DX8's locally are working fine.

..perhaps down the road you will understand!

No scoop, but this seems to be a recurring problem at that particular event.

That's ONE way to look at it..

Others see it as a terrific marketing ploy...sort of when your in the lead how do you stay there...

With the release of the new DX7s at a lower price with less features..I needed something to be a "dealmaker" ...the free Rx did it for me.

Looking forward to the DX8 with backlit screen, and all the other features that were left out of the DX7s.

Re: Goodbye DSM?

HH has a limited time offer to it's dealers...2 for 1 AR8000 Rx's when you buy the DX8. In other words..a free $129.00 Rx with the purchase of the DX8 system.

My LHS has a few sets coming end of May...

Bet you haven't even taken a look at Airtronics SD-10g system . Take a look at the downloadable manual and check it out. I keep showing "the other guys" at the field what mine can do and theirs cannot and all I get is " WHAT , yours can do that and for how much money !" Already got 2 converts and I am sure will get more when spring finally comes. I guess it all comes down to the advertising dollar and all the glossy magazine pictures. Air. was the last to turn to 2.4 without all the built in problems. Dare ya ! and while you are at it; If you take my dare , check out the new line of pure digital servos all available out of Ont. Canada at better than US pricing.
