Re: Cessna 336 Skymaster converted to electric power plant set up

the big brother has been converted to gas engine 2 X 17 cc. Nitro is too expensive this days. Almost 3rd of a gallon of 20/20 per flight.

Initially model had two YS53 4 stroke engines, now it's powered with 2 x Rimfire 55 motors with 60a esc's on Nano-tech 4500 mah lipos. I need to figure out how to make 'Y' harness to be able to use single battery as that's plenty for both Rimfire 55s turning 13 x 8 3 blade MS props for 14 min flight. (Bought a pusher 2 blade apc prop but regular 3 blade MS prop has done the job nicely!)

After the conversion was done last Saturday, took it out for a test run, I'm very happy to say, all went well and now model is soon to do it's maiden flight powered as electric model.
Have you checked to see what the current draw is off the one battery. allow at least a 25% reserve at full power. Don't think that there is much flying time with those two motors pulling off a single 4500mah battery. Also would suggest that the uncovered battery wiring at the plugs should have some tape or something to keep from any shorting. What might work well is liquid tape available at most hardware stores.

Hey she isn't that old lady anymore!....lol

She has totally new electric power system meaning a new heart and lungs...

Flaps got new Hitec HS 645MGs!
Elevator also got hew Hitec HS 645MG!
Rudders have Futaba digital hi torque servo!
Leaving both ailerons with JR 507s it came with those work perfectly.

Yes switched from 13x8 3 blades to 12x7
2 blade electric APCs.

Went over the while airframe and it's in very good condition. I have yet to fix slight skin damage under the nose section but it's taken care off for this season.

Off course Romeo, once I get it tweaked and all new bugs worked out, I'm sure she will be a very nice flying model. She is living totally new life now.
