Re: OS Engines are heating up I used a half gallon cool power that was four years old in 32 degree celcius in an O.S .46 FX with no problems. I believe you were running engine to lean, plus it sounds you had other issues. Older fuel can give you some slight differences in performance ,but generally speaking will continue to run the engine. |

Re: OS Engines are heating up Navi, Yes, do try the old fuel now that you have the engine running. Even if you find the old fuel doesn't run great, you can probably use it for breaking in new glo engines (with keeping the glo plug powered perhaps).... and, as a last resort it can be used for cleaning/flushing out glo engines during maintenance. btw, my understanding of extending the shelf life of glo fuel is to keep temperature of the environment in which is stored stable, not leave the jugs uncorked for longer than necessary... so that you lessen the amount of water vapour that gets precipitated as moisture into the fuel.... good luck Michael |

Re: OS Engines are heating up Hi All, I was finally able to run my engine without any problem. What I did was : * Replaced old tubing with the new one. * Replaced around 3 year old 15% fuel with fresh 10% * Started out at rich needle and kept it like that for 15 minutes noticing no air bubbles in the tubing. * Started leaning it out but only until I had enough RPM being too hot these days. I had two nice and long flights without any issue. Next I plan to use one of my old fuel around 6-7 bottle not opened yet. I'm not 100% +ive about their age but they are surely around 3 yrs old with 15% on all of them. I want to thank once again to all the great guys out there for their help in reaching to this point through their consistent and quick inputs. Thanks you everybody. Regards. Navi |

Re: OS Engines are heating up Once you get it working fine on the fresh fuel and plug without changing a thing try a tank full of the old fuel. If it doesn't run right discard the fuel. You likewise open one of your old jugs that you have and try it. If it runs ok then use it. If not there is no way I know of to fix the contaminated fuel. I have fuel several years old stored inside the cardboard box in a cool, dark dry place and it seems to run fine. Dennis |

Re: OS Engines are heating up If your fuel in the additional jugs hasn't been opened and stored in a cool dark place it should be fine. |
