Re: HK CF-105 Avro Arrow

Thanks Scott. I have been reading various threads, here and other rc sites, on appropriate distances for generic airframes but not sure where to start on the Arrow. I look forward to seeing your results.
cheers

We are experimenting bungee variations at our club MMFC. I have been using a postion aproximately 4.5 inches ahead of the C of G . Basically the closer you position your hook to the C of G the higher the release with the jet pointing upwards, sometimes a little wilder in the pull. The further you are postioned from the C of G the more control in the pull and a lower release height, ( not always a benefit, LOL).
I have built pull carts in various shapes to direct more force into the launch. When we finish our study we will start a thread and publish our findings on this site.

Regarding the Habu motor, this is not a pusher, fan in front of motor, will this work?

Adrian This is flying with the e-flite bl15 blade, not a pusher, 3000kv outrunner and 5s, 2s in the rear 3s in front .Bungee is normally the best way to go off grass , look at my videos on youtube for a wide variety of launches.

It does fly well , slows down really well for landings . look at what some of the other guys have powered theirs with . I am going to try the Change Sun 10 blade with the hobbyking 3300kv fan drive on 4s next.

Good luck !

No matter how banged up it may be... if it can still fly, it's in better shape than the originals...

What's the wingspan on it? Or better, what scale is it? Someday, when I have more skill & confidence, I want to do a scaled-down version of the free-flight models using a rocket-powered Nike booster.

Re: HK CF-105 Avro Arrow

Finally flew my bandaged Cf105 yesterday , very dicy, but finally got the hang of it . Today something got hooked up on the bungee and planted it nose first on a bungee reverse with everyone watching! It will take a lot of epoxy and fiberglass to make it go again.I am hoping to see what got caught on the video.
