1. Princeton Spring event, unfortunately, although I loaded it and it was near ready, my thermocouple hadn't arrived (JMP uses a special thermocouple in the AMT's instead of the typical wire one's that many engines come with).

2. Jets Over Cayley in Cayley Alberta. Was ready to fly, but when we got to Cayley, I found that the runway, while very long, was only 50' wide and we had a cross wind. Couple that with a density altitude of around 6000 feet and it wasn't the time to maiden it.

I wanted to take it to Whidbey during their event to maiden. Maiden's were allowed after 5pm but at Whidbey the sun is right in your face by that time. So, the plan is maiden it on Thursday at Princeton as long as all the stars align and my butthole is puckered tightly enough LOL! This is the first jet I've owned where I kind of wish it wouldn't be a stupid idea to have a couple stiff drinks before the maiden haha!
Will let you know after the Princeton event how it goes!

Cool thanks for the update. I was away for a few weeks and thought maybe I missed something.

I know my Scorpion isnt as $$ and so forth as your bird, but it was definitley the most money I have tied up into one model (enough to make me slightly worried about dorking it, which I havent been before with any other jet). I thought I would have been nervous and was thinking of traveling to a bigger field, of having someone more experienced maiden it - but then I told myself its a proven design that should be more than able to handle my club field and went ahead. WHen I flew it I was fine.

I am sure you will be too, I mean you have enough experience and the plane is a proven design.

Hope everything works out weather wise and you get some flights in!

kev-o - you're right about the planets in line. At this time, weather forecast for all 4 days
looks absolutely perfect!!! Hope it doesn't change.

Sweetest turbine Ive ever flown, the Oly has no equal. Guaranteed to blow your mind in an airframe such as the Firebird. I have been flying this Pheonix UAV with a tweaked Oly, she just keeps accelerating so far 350 kts ++ on the auto pilot runs from about 6km out.
