Re: $200 pinion

Can someone take a pic of the pinion on their older Trex 600 with the 170T main gear. I'm having difficulty getting the right one.

These .7mods are definately not correct.

Re: $200 pinion

Looks like it just sheared off! Maybe consider a better pinion other than the stock Align one...

Re: $200 pinion

So what Pinion mod did you use Rob? I just got my .7 Mod Revco Hard one pinions and they are definately not the right ones. Here is what a .7mod looks like:

This is what I got from RQ: see pics

The top one in the double shot is the correct mod. The bottom one is the so called .7 mod Revco from RQ.

Im using the 170T main gear on the 600's.

Wow, amazing what has happened in the RC heli world over the last few years. Complete kits sell for way less than that, the 60 class is dead (replaced by the 90 class) and flybars are becoming optional if you prefer to go flybarless no problem.
But $hit still happens.

Re: $200 pinion

I can see there is no wall to speak of in the pinion bore. No wonder it failed especially with 3D type flying. I like more teeth on my pinions therefor more meat in the bore. I am presently running a 17 tooth pinion with 3cell 4000mha on my HK500 makes for very docile flying heli which is just my speed.

Re: $200 pinion

That sucks.

I can't remember if Align supplied my 600 kit with a brass pinion. I automatically switch to hardened units right off the bat and it's been a while.
