Here's photo of my completed Ivan Chipmunk. Did first flight last evening at dusk after the wind died. The marker lights looks great. Powered by an E-flite 32k, HobbyKing 70 Amp esc., 2 35c 2100 mah batteries wired in parallel. Prop on initial flite was an APC 15x8E. Current draw a full throttle was 52 Amp and 585 watts. Takeoff was short, very little trim adjustment on elevator only. Flew for 6 minutes and used 25% of the battery. Flies great at 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and is hard to put onto the ground as it floats. I do have flaps and will try them next for landing. Sprung Oleo gear from HobbyKing works well with a lighter spring. All in all a great flying plane. Can,t wait to get out again tonight.

I am a retired Graphic designer, and my son has got the big printer etc. so we make our own decals- here is a copy of the Roundel and the Cdn marking for the rudder if you like -for Covering I also am using CubYellow had ordered Monokote but got Ultrakote- should be OK

Re: Winter Project

What are you planning for covering. I have decided on Monokote Cub Yellow. Do you have any data for markings? I need to acquire some info. that I can send to Callie Graphics. She can work from side, top, bottom view photos and rescale to the size I need.

Re: Winter Project

Why not? let's have a set of twins-if we get together some day with models still flying it would look cool in formation!
Today i started installing nav. lights and got the landing light installed- i bought a set on e-bay for $16 shipped! have steady red and green two stobes and two steady whites- not a bad price

Re: Winter Project

That's too funny. Here's the photo that I have as my desktop background that I am going to use for my model. Either we can have a matched pair or I can change to another.

Re: Winter Project

Ken-
I can't give you the name of the Oleo's some I had for years- i have been following a build tread from a guy in U.K., saw he had the same, but modified them by inserting a softer spring to suit such a lite build,
here is the link to his site:http://www.bartonhewsons.me.uk/home/...y.html#January
Stay in touch and show me your result

This is going to be my color scheme
