Re: Epoxy Debonding? Be careful of solvents unless you can neutralize them,as they may soak in and then the epoxy will lose its usefulness as it will not harden.I have used an electric soldering iron with a blade edge to heat the seam, and a knife. Also I have used an electric paint remover gun and a knife, it works if you heat and have a little rest so the heat penetrates the wood. |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? You have no chance remove dry epoxy with any solvents Only heat and mechanical removing. Maybe some strong chemistry can destroy epoxy, but together with the plane. |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? I bought a can of Attack today. I will do some testing on carbon fibre & some other dried epoxy & some Monokote before actually trying it on the plane that I need to remove components from. RB |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? Acetone is out for carbon tube, it'll eat the glue holding the fibres together. You'll be able to peel it like a banana once the acetone has done it's magic. |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? The heat gun might work for certain parts but some of the epoxy is inside a component, i.e. a carbon rod inside a horizontal stab. Hence I was looking for some type of liquid that I could "inject" into that confined area. RB |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? Nope, never tried it. I have used a heat gun as suggested and it works fast and does a great job. Give it a try before spending your $$ on anything! You won't find anything cheeper as you probably already own a heat guy, right? |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? Thanks for inputs so far. I discovered a product called "Attack" used by jewelry makers. Advertised specifically for dissolving Epoxy. I'm going to pick up some tomorrow & try it. Anyone hear of this or use it before? RB |

Re: Epoxy Debonding? Heat gun, No too much heat to the surrounding areas. Use a soldering iron and attache a n Exacto flat chisel blade or what ever blade suites you with some small copper wire to the tip of the iron and carve away. Phil |
