Ya there is quite a bit missing, it was turned into a dirt oval car, lots of "custom" stuff done to it...maybe someday

Gump Hey Ron, when I was a lot younger, I once made a 10th scale electric 4wd truck (I guess that would have been a truggy by todays standards) out of an Optima Mid, using the Lazer arms and a bunch of other modifications. I was able to go to Advance Hobbies and match up driveshafts from some other kits and got a truck body. I can't recall what rims I used though....
I'm pretty sure that somewhere I have some printed photos. I should take a look and see what I can see.
I also remember owning a ZY10 and a Lazer and an Optima Mid all at the same time. I remember going to John's Photo and Hobby and buying a sheet of graphite and making a longer chassis and installing the slightly longer belt from one of the kyosho cars... it was either the mid's belt or the lazer's belt.
Unfortunately back then I had absolutely no skills as a driver, but also had zero knowledge of setup and how it affects the kit. I'd dare say that it would have hendeled a lot better, especially considering that all of today's 4wd's have a much longer wheel base than any of those old kits ! !

I agree! I really want to try mine, but it's basically brand new, so it's a shelf queen

That's quite an awesome collection going! A friend at work just found his old hornet and I just finished installing a new motor/esc/tx/rx/battery in it for him (3100kv motor, 60a BL ESC, 2s3800mah lipo, HK 3 channel tx/rx). It's substantially faster than before, definitely about the edge of what the chassis can handle.
