Re: Post your Rc boat Pics here @Blake, I read thru your entire build thread on your J boat and even sent some of your pics to a friend back home who said that it was a excellent, beautiful build. He scratch build sail boats and planes. Yours is a work of art. Patience and lots of time needed to make such a beautiful vessel... Perhaps when I retire, which is next year, I may acquire a starter sailboat and learn a few tricks or two on how to enjoy a few quiet time with them. There are a few lakes around and a bit of a drive . Will have to look whether they allow them...keep up the build thread, very interesting. |

Re: Post your Rc boat Pics here Blake: Either that is one very large model sailboat or you managed to hire a Hobbit to pose beside it! Lol! Excellent! Lyle |

Re: Post your Rc boat Pics here For the folks that haven't found my J boat build thread. This is a 1/16 scale build of the 1937 Yankee that was built in 1930 for the America's Cup challenge. She was 126 feet long with a waterline of over 83 feet! Her beam was 22 feet and she drew 14 feet 10 inches. At 1/16 scale my build is 94.5 inches long, beam of 16 inches and she will weigh in at 92lbs when ballasted. The mast is 10 feet high and the mainboom will be 44" long. Work continues...! Blake |

Re: Post your Rc boat Pics here Now something completely different.... Yes they are working subs with ballast tanks! Many have lights, sound systems, and working torpedoes! Running time typically 45 minutes per charge using small wet cell batteries. |
