Definitely get a starter box! Best way to start a nitro vehicle.
Semple, nailed it!

Best way to have a better understanding of your RC mechanically is to build a kit yourself!

Guest The most important is to get a recognized brand, that you can get local support for. My 2c, in a rtr, nothing beats the LOSI 2.0 RTR, it is a great package for the cost if you have nothing, and the Hot Bodies D8 as a race kit it is the best bang for the buck out there, there are others but cost will go up considerably, you can spend as little as you want or the sky is the limit.
The best way to make a small fortune racing s to start with a BIG fortune.

Trakker You should come to open practice before you start racing to get used to the track and to get a bit of a handle on how things work. The guys here have more time for you during open practice because they are not under any pressure to get ready for their race.

If you haven't already, you REALLY should make it a point of driving ten minutes to hardcore, and watching the races. You'll learn a lot by spectating, and there will be 100 people there to ask questions too as well.

I know there's a big race there next Sunday, so try to come out. All your questions would be answered in one day, and you'd leave there with a clearer understanding of what's required to race.

I would gladly take time to speak with you if you show up, and if I don't have certain answers to certain questions, than I'd gladly point you to someone who does.
