Re: 1:3.74 Harvard !!! Build by 3B

As to the cost issue, it's not an easy answer. There are some things that I think should have been built into the mold, specifically the stab tube hole. Making a perfect alignment was not a easy task.

On the plus side, the fiberglass makes a VERY DURABLE surface, and as light weight as a COMP or KRILL composite, BUT much stronger and certainly less prone to showing dings.

I certainly think it will "Show Off" the Moki 250 Radial. The sound will definitely be appropriate for this airplane.

Hi Brian, I'm glad to hear that your grandson is doing well! Thanks for the update and good luck on finishing this plane up! What is your overall impression of the kit? Worth the price?

Re: 1:3.74 Harvard !!! Build by 3B

I had to delay this project with Brad a few years ago, due to my Grandson's health issues. That has all now been resolved for the better.

I just started back with this plane the other day. My goal is to be able to take it to next year's Joe Nall event.

I'm in the midst of installing the electronics, cockpit details and preparing it for painting.

After a lot of consideration, I have decided to go with this paint scheme.

The bright yellow on the bottom of the wing and stabs will be a good contrast to the dark colours on top.

Brad, I just realized that I lost track of this build. How did it turn out? Flight video?? I'm poking around for a scale project for my Moki...

Re: 1:3.74 Harvard !!! Build by 3B

So right now. I need to pick up some pale green paint to paint the cockpit interior. Or maybe that can wait until the plane is painted. Not sure what order that should be done ?

Comments.........

I do have about 1 million holes to drill around the perimeter of the canopy for the attachments screws.

Do a final assembly of the whole plane and check over to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

Then tear it all down and it should be ready to go to paint.

After paint, It will be in ARF stage. All the control rods will need to be put back in. All the hinges will need to be glued. Radio, smoke, fuel tanks, etc etc

Then balance check.. Plan a day for Brian so that we can go and maiden the plane

Hi Scott,
I had nothing to do with the panels. I just put them in place.
