Ya. They get my thumbs-up as well. I have a couple in my TX's and I love them. Much more reliable than the original batteries that came with the TX.

Re: charging transmitter

I do mine at a C/10 ( 1/10th of battery capacity for newbies) on my Alpha 4 as recommended by them. A fast charge on NiCad or Nimh is pushing it , even though some say ok. At least it works for me and happy with it.

I think he was talking about the temperature probe that come with some chargers, and that he set the temperature cutoff to 28C. 28 degrees celcius

I agree heat is the enemy of NIMH for sure.
Some of the cheap chargers even have a lead to check temperature and a temperature cutoff seting. Never cutoff on me. I seem to recall 28C or so as highest.

Re: charging transmitter

Today ( meaning the last few years) Most chargers are designed to taper their charging rate down as the voltage rises in the battery pack. Some chargers as you mentioned , have the probe sensor to basically do a similar job. Myself , I prefer that the charger reads the voltage and tapers rather than depend on another circuit to finish doing the job. All in the design of the charger and how the program is set.

Re: charging transmitter

Agree with Earl... heat does NO GOOD for either Nicads or Nimh batteries . They should be no more than slightly warm to the touch when reaching full charge.... not hot but barely warm. This why when assembling battery packs ; spot welding is the way to go as too much damage is done when trying to solder together.

Re: charging transmitter

My experience has been that you get a better charge on AA packs at the lower mA values, say under 100 mA. I question any charge method that heats packs up significantly.....intuitively I can't see that being good for the cells in the long run.

Thanks to all for the input but I think I like Max and kip51035 answers the best as they answered my question so I understand it.
