I have to agree on the Telebee. I have 5 of them and they hold for my type of flying almost as good as my 2 Futaba 401's.

I've found the Telebee one of the better inexpensive gyros. Had many that were a heck of a lot worse. Other reasons I've found where the sensitivity didn't work was where the pushrod was to far out on the servo arm, also the pitch slider on the tailshaft was sticking. Not the fault of the gyro.

MAX, you should be able to find it at any hardware store, H/H, H/D or Can Tire.

Finally, an HK401 (clone) which does an ok job, but it likes to wag its tail, no matter how I change the gain.
So it seems there is some truth to the saying "you get what you pay for" in the gyros you have experience with.

My experience is that the beginner is the one who really needs a good gyro that is versatile (will work with most any heli), easy to set-up, consistant in operation, solid tail control in all kinds of flight maneuvers and dependable. I have yet to find all in any of the low end gyros that have tested.

Yet these low cost inits are the most popular with the newbie. They do not seem to realize how much faster they would progress with a gyro that does what it is supposed to ALL the time. Learning with confidence makes for much faster progress then learning without.

Once one has learned how to fly to the point that he no longer gets the sphincter tightening syndrom (stops blood from going to your head rsulting in brain freeze and a crash) when the heli throws a minor curve (like a tail wag on occasion, or a partial heading change through the odd maneuver), then he can use these lesser gyros in a scale machine or other heli that is not driven hard, and they will do OK. But until he gets to that level, I always recommend that they bite the bullet, and start with a proven one, even though it may hit the Visa a little harder.

well I had developed a similar problem on one of my T-rex 450s, and I ws changing out everything imaginable, couldn't seen to nail it down and things would get worse, at first it was a few minutes into the flight, then more often and more violent.... it was odd cuse it would come and go, similar to yours, finally after tons of reading, I found that the belt with the twist running in the aluminum tail tube could cause a static build up, so I sanded the last half inch of both ends of the tube as well as the tail mount on both ends and that seemed to eliminate the problem, seemed the static build up of energy would be contained in that area, by allowing it to travel out of the tail tube, the problem was removed. Not sure if it will cure your problem, but it sure never hurts to try it. worked for me

This stuff sticks EXTREMELY well and has the proper cushioning properties to allow the gyro some isolation, yet read angular changes rapidly.
Great- thanks. I will pick some up and give it a try. Can I get that at Canadian Tire/Home Depot or is that a specialty item that is hard to find?

The one Cougar posted is kinda rubbery material like. It is super sticky, but doesn't leave residue when pulling it out (not like some foam gyro tapes that leaves one side with the stick and some foam particles). I never used it in my Gyro, but I like placing it for my Rx.

That's cool cougar. Is that a foam tape or is it rubber?
