Re: putting a digital camera in a glider

Here is some footage I took with a cheap keychain camera held under the rubber bands of a FLING.

Re: putting a digital camera in a glider

Good luck , that would make me sweat every time catching it. I hope it is designed to break easily just in case. But I personally think that actually is the ideal position for a camera.

Sony Webbie on my Radian glider. Mounted on the wing to prevent prop in the picture. Toonie on the opposite wing for counterweight. Tape and zip ties...easy as pie.

Re: putting a digital camera in a glider

Well it all depends, if you watch it in postage stamp size it looks ok, full screen it is not so good. It is like comparing Wall-mart $5 camera to an SLR, if you are happy with pictures from the cheapie than, yes it is for you. I have one and a key chain one to, for the size and price it is pretty good but for HD in full screen it is not and falls far short of HD Hero or Webbie or similar camera, which I have also and love the amazing results.

I second Tug's choice from Hobbyking....small doesn't even say enough about this little wonder. pPlus it has this great clip for mounting on a wing.

Re: putting a digital camera in a glider

Hero with the case and mount is around 7.5oz + - a bit. Because of it's 170 deg fish eye lens you will always have the nose and the prop in the picture, unfortunately, on Radian or that type of glider.
Cost is $260 to 380 depending which combo and where you get it from.
