Rose City Model Flyers club has a nice field I have been a member there since 2000 before it looked like the way it is now the field use to face the farmers barn but we moved it around. You should come out to the Vintage Fly it's not as good as a regular fun fly but there are some neat planes that show up there.

Re: Clubs/Fields I Have Visited/Flown At!!!

In Saskatchewan I have flown at Swift Current, Kindersley (old and new sites), and my place (not an official club)

In Alberta I've flown at Lougheed, Didsbury, Camrose (TFF), Calgary (CRAMS old field), Medicine Hat, Coronation, and stopped by Camrose ( Alberta's Littlest Airport).

A couple of the clubs in Alberta that I've been to were for competitions, so I probably didn't get a real feel for the club dynamics.

Since I have now been "put out to pasture" I intend on attending a few events at clubs I haven't been to yet. There are a couple places I don't care to return to, but that's a personal choice.

I believe that everyone should take the opportunity to get out of their comfort zone and fly at different places. Never know you may learn something you didn't think about before!

Visited Niagra Region Model Flying Club (Brock Field) Nice field looks in good condition no one there too bad would have liked to give it a try and meet some of the members.

Rose City Model Flyers field is in perfect condition met 3 flyers there but they had been there all morning and were packing up. They generously offered to hang around if I wanted to get a flight in but I declined said I would make it another time. Nice guys really made me welcome I will be going back.

Flying Tigers RC Club nice flying day everyone must be working will have to go by another time.

Simcoe Radio Control Club again no one there looks like a nice field have to visit again later.

Otterville RC Flying Club haven't been there in years roadway was overgrown didn't look to be active. Anyone know the status of the club on Rene's farm????

Tillsonburg Radio Control Flying Club. No one there gate was closed.

Headed home, dusk flying would be done for the day.

Thought about pictures after the fact but I will have some next outing.

I have a 10 inch notebook that I use with Microsoft Streets and Tips sits right on my console lot easier to view than a cell phone or regular gps. Going to have to see if my gps dongle will work with that link and the notebook

Hey Dennis... great idea... where are your pictures?

Good to read that you were welcomed at Cobble (my home field). There's also LMAC and Forest City Flyers in the London area.

To your GPS topic, anyone with an Android (probably iThingies too ) device with GPS can download an app called "Model Airfields MADB". It's free and it gives a google maps like interface where you can navigate around and see all the clubs on the map. If your phone has GPS location services enabled (ie. you haven't disabled them) it'll even pop an alert that you're near a field. Pretty cool.

Actually, just googled it and they have a web page too:

https://www.ma-db.com/db.php

Happy trails.
