scammers are everywhere..... hell even a close relative could be one of them

There are ways to avoid getting scammed
paypal (NO GIFT) is one of them

Ebay itself is safe but many many many horror stories maybe 90% more than we will ever see on rc canada

Nothing to do with rccanada

always sad to hear this still happening in 2014..... but criminals are criminals for a reason

Agreed. Just sold a not RC older FM radio on Ebay and the New Mexico buyer claimed damage without photos. In the several exchanges I stayed polite and asked for photos. He swore at me and called me every name in the book, etc. etc. Ebay reviewed it and gave him his money back and Paypal owned by Ebay just gave it back, and he got to keep the radio. I am reconsidering Ebay and Paypal. Great for buying but not for selling.

Paypal isnt a sure fire way of not getting scammed. People charge back all the time!

Best way is cash, in person, in a public area. All sales final etc.

If you are buying and selling on RCC you should be looking at the buyer / seller feedback here: https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/itrader_main.php

There are people in the hobby that scam, its just the way it is. You need to protect your self from being scammed and do what you can to not get ripped.

Buy and sell with people who have feedback or have a ton of time invested in RCC.

I have never been scammed by anyone from RCC but I have gotten not as advertised items before. It is what it is, I wasnt made, the difference from the ad to the item was only a slight difference, hardly worth the neg feedback.

Use the feedback system

Notice on paypals site if you send money as gift it simply says USE AT YOUR OWN RISK and they also say you can't dispute anything either.

Exactly !

that said, I've sold A LOT of stuff here and on other sites over the years, and have only been stiffed once ffor $16 by a fine gentleman from Aurora, Ontario. There are a lot of good people to deal with on this site.

Exactly, but if it's your first time dealing with them, and they are not a get in the car and drive away. Then think twice, its a 50/50 gable these days.

Just goes to show there are reasons for everything. Calling someone stupid when you don't know all the facts is a bit ironic.

That sucks Gary, I'm guessing you still haven't got your money back after all this time?

Want me to go and look at the bike he's selling? I can sit on it, pretend to lose my balance and fall off. Dropping the bike in the process. I'm serious. Lol.

I'd love to go meet this guy. He looks like a total idiot. Awesome for Mike to post up a pic. Lol
