No worries, lol, the more that talk about it, the merrier. I am glad the thread is working out for people. Me... I am still on the fence trying to figure out if our field would work for gliders.

Ontaeronut, I've just been reading this thread again and I must apologise for hogging your thread. I guess I got carried away with my enthusiasm.
I have an Alula and it really is a great little plane. I've had it out at my local airfield to get it trimmed out and I'm ready for the slopes, I think.

I ordered an alula and a weasel yesterday. I can guarantee 2 things about the dreamflight alula.

1. You will love this glider.I Doo
2. You will buy another one.I Did

This guy has a nice soaring location

You gonna love it! Hooked for life!

By the way, don't bother with the three piece wing kit. I ended up using tape to hold the wings on anyway and the grub screw just ends up crushing the CF wing rods and torquing loose.

Re: Slope soaring curious

I am committed now to slope sailing and I've ordered my first Alula.
It should arrive just in time for an early Spring!!!!!!!

Yes that is the case. When lift gets really good I trim for more speed. Might have to get a Weasel myself so I can have a compact plane to place on my trailbike to access backcountry slopes. It can be built so the wings come off. Also like the looks of the Windrider ScoutBee, but would be a challenge to make a 2 piece wing!

These old hands & wing chill don't work too well together. Even on cool days in the summer I find I need gloves to keep the pain from spoiling my fun on the slope!
Wing chill????? Is this some sort of new airplane related ailment Them ole' fingers don't seem to be doing so well even in the nice warm house

Truth be told, that "wing chill" is why I don't like to fly glow in the winter any more either. Not having to adjust the mixture on electrics or gliders when it is cold out is really nice. Thats why on our last glider towing expidition at Thanksgiving, I made Merv fly the towplane and I took the glider
