Re: Eflite 25-40 retract equivalent

I have been following 2 main threads on RCG for an EDF Eurofighter and an eflite Hurricane. There are hundreds of pages and a considerable portion is Q & A on retracts. Without question, the number 1 choice is eflite 15-25. For those who cannot stomach $45 per retract, there is Phil at PW-RC who will supply at about half that. The main complaint against eflite is the brittle nature of the trunions and if you dumb your landing like I did, you may wish to purchase aluminum trunions from Tamjets at $35 a pair. I purchased a pair of the eflites for $100 from our LHS (he adds a premium to HH price) for the Hurricane and a pair of Phil's for the Eurofighter. It's very hard to compare the quality without a lot of landings on both. They "look" very similar but Phil's do have metal trunions. Will that just move the weakest point to another spot? Since eflite will not sell parts and simply tell you to buy a new pair there should be a good business in workshop cnc but I can't find another seller. Maybe it's too much labour unless you sell thousands. I'll be happy to report on my findings but it could be quite a while
cheers

Get the eflite ones. Trust me if you get anything else they just don't seem to last.

Buy quality and cry once. Buy cheap and cry oftern.....

I have seen so many other gears rip out. The eflite ones are the only ones that last

Eflite 25-40 retract equivalent

Does anyone know of a good Hobbyking alterative to 25-46 100 Degree Rotating Electric Retracts from Eflite?
$164 seems a little steep considering the plane was only $99
I'm looking for a set for the Hangar 9 P-40b Warhawk
