rchamp With the last minute venue change, a lot of people won't know we have changed location. Please share with anyone you know and if there are questions they can post here or email me at rc3d@shaw.ca

Thanks

rchamp This one is close to the field http://www.western66motorinn.com It is nothing special, but it is reasonable, and it has a restaurant for breakfast.

Cool. Any good suggestions for good motels in the area?

rchamp Great news everyone! We have arranged an alternate location for the funfly. Victoria Radio Control Model Society, http://www.vrcms.org/directions.html has agreed to allow us to host at their very nice location. There are restrictions that we did not have at the PDQ site. No nitro, gas or Turbines, electric only. Flying will be from 10 to 6 or 7 on Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday. No night flying. Dry camping will be permitted on site. The field is only about 15 minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry, so it will actually be closer than the PDQ site. We will no longer have an onsite concession or the traditional Saturday night BBQ. Many thanks to the Victoria club for allowing us to use their facility. Please share this information with any pilots you believe planned on attending. I would like to request that you email me at rc3d@shaw.ca to RSVP or if you have any questions.

Re: Parksville Funfly July 25,26

That's a real bummer , but better safe than sorry.

rchamp We have been informed by the DND ( owners of the flying site) that due to the high risk of fire, our field is closed until further notice. As our funfly is only three weeks out and the weather forecast is for hot dry weather till August, there is a good chance our event will be cancelled or relocated. I will post here as further information becomes available.

Thanks

Re: Parksville Funfly July 25,26

I went last year and, hopefully, will make it again. Randy puts on an excellent event. I know the ferry ride over can be pretty high, but if people carpool together it can be a bit more affordable. Besides, it's worth it! I will be doing everything I can to make it again this year!
