That looks nice...Any carbon tube in the wing ?
This is the cool way to get a landing skid that will save the prop, and allow take off from the ground too. A 0.035 spring steel wire seems to work well on a 30" ws plane. Size your's to suit the plane wieght. I just predrill a small hole in the 1/4" ply motor mount and CA in the wire after roughing up 1" of the end going in the hole. A small 1/4" bend or loop bent on the other end so it can not poke anything. I have seen some with a small single plastic wheel at the end as well.

Just got a new CNC cut blue foam YAK the other day, and hope it will work outdoors as well as it flies indoors. The temperature is up to 13*c (~60*F) for the 8th of March. Hope to get out and fly today if the wind drops off a bit.

ahh I did stumbled upon that, I decided to base mine off a different set of plans. Maybe I will make a set of both and compare them.

Re: Sbach342 Foamie.

hi Sean B i built one a week ago with a wingspan of 24" and a all around weight with a 1000mah 2s lipo at 8 oz and flies great with the 2204-14t but with a 850mah 3s verry fast vertical in seconds i also tried a 34" version with a 2212-10 with the same results but a bigger battery though not sure of the weight never checked!
but if you want the plans i can post the links for you the original plans are for the 34" ! I scaled them down to 72% for the 24" size

Re: Sbach342 Foamie.

I worked out a way to divide up stencils into smaller sheets of tin and riveted together in CNC cut holes, so it matches up into a perfect full scale stencil. if anyone really wants a stencil it can be shipped fairly cheaply, unassembled of course.

Re: Sbach342 Foamie.

I've scaled it to 30" for indoor flying and I was planning on using 2204-14.
I also want to try doubling the size for some outdoor flying, I'm not sure on a power system for that yet, I will make it and see how much it weights first.
The hardware store here stocks 5/8 greenguard foam, which I was planning on using.
