Another option may be Fibertech N More:

Can never hurt to ask.

Best try and get some dimensions ahead of time as they may have something compatible listed for another manufacturer.

Emailed Fiberglass Specialities.... they can't help sadly.. no mold. I guess its an old kit.
I guess I'll look around for a 1/5th cowling from a J3 kit...

Which one is best to look for?

Fiberglass Specialties would be my first choice as well.

No, unfortunately, the owners retired a few years ago and although I remember hearing that a hobby shop somewhere had taken over the business, it went nowhere. Kits and parts no longer available. You may be able to do a search here and find out the name of that hobby shop and see if they still have inventory left. Long shot, but might be worth a try.

Having said that, there are lots of J3 Cub kits around in that size, you may be able to adapt something to fit.

I have one of their 8' Radial Beaver kits stashed away for a rainy day. I would love to find one of their Turbo Beaver kits!

Cheers!

Unionville Hobby Piper J2 kit??

I just bought what looks like a complete 1/5 Piper J2 kit, made by Unionville Hobby.

One thing that I know is missing is the fiberglass cowling that is supposed to be there.

Question; Does anyone know how to get a hold of Unionville Hobby?? Do they still exist?

Or failing that, does anyone have a cowling to go with this kit?

Thanks all!

Rich
