Re: 40% Carden Edge 540 - BBT - Build Thread Well, after a fun year with this plane, I decided to sell it to help fund my 43% Carden Edge build (https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=97552) and 58% Modellbau Pitts (https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=104702) build that will start up in the next 1 to 2 weeks I`m really going to miss this machine and it`s proven to be as strong and reliable as any of my previous Cardens. It always created lots of discussion at the feilds and anyone that has had the chance to fly it understands what I mean when I say "light is always better"!! I hope in the summer of 2011 to build an ultralight 40% Carden 260 or 300 with a few other tricks that I`ve been working on!! The good news - this Edge will be staying at our club here in Montreal (Club Amidair) and I hope to still be able to fly it from time to time!! Trev |

Re: 40% Carden Edge 540 - BBT - Build Thread Quote:
The tricky part was that we were standing about 8-10 ft above the level of the water, and I`ve never hovered a plane lower than where I was standing, so it took a lot to get used to. That, and I didn`t want to be the guy to go swimming in that infested pond!! |

There were probably 40 spectators standing right behind us on the bank of the pond and pressuring us to go lower and stay there longer so I tried to keep one of them busy by taking the video with my camera!!! That only left 39 voices of encouragement!!! |

Re: 40% Carden Edge 540 - BBT - Build Thread Well, halfway through the season and this lightened Edge is as reliable as any other Carden I've owned to date! I was down at the GreenMountain 3D Huckfest this past weekend with Ron Sebag and Sebastien Lajoie of Montreal and got to do something I've always wanted to do - dip the tail in the water. The pond was phenomenal and for Ron Sebag (35% Carden Edge in orange/red/blue/white) and I it was our first attempt to dip this. I don't think I've ever been so nervous - I could barely hold onto the radio. Check out Scott Lyons (event CD, club president and an insane 3D pilot) with his recovered 35% H9 260!! He was so good, he'd just 3D around Ron and I!! Truely an honor to fly with that caliber of pilot!!
