I remember this guy was part of the old EMFSO as Pat MacKenzie said he saw this plane at one of their workshops. You could contact Pat and maybe find out that way.

Pretty Bird!
Lucky you put the maiden on her. We have had nothing but high winds here. My Nostalgia fleet has been grounded.

"Defy the laws of gravity"
I keep hearing that saying at my field.

Nice to see you added a little pilot to the open cockpit.
Gives the plane a completed look.

There is still one here too, more to come for sure!

No .56 or .30GN yet - possibly tomorrow!

I have nothing useful or really relevant say, but I have to say:

She really is a gorgeous aircraft.

Love your Sportster Bill!

Yes, I goofed there. Guess I had Dallaire Sportsters on my mind. It is indeed a Dallaire Pee Wee Speedster.

The conversion is now finished, with the E-flite Power 10 I installed complete overkill at 133 watts/lb., but I was expecting a much heavier final result. The ready to fly weight, even with a 4,000 mAh lipo for balance, is only 2 lbs 13oz. and this is an 80" wingspan model. No full throttle goonage here or it'll end in tears for sure.

The maiden was a total non-event. After a run of about 20' at 3/4 throttle she lifted gently off and climbed away sedately. Its amazing how slow these old designs can fly; this one seems to defy the laws of gravity. She is indeed a beautiful sight puttering by overhead at 1/2 throttle with the sun shining through that transparent covering. Old Timer heaven!
