Re: New Videos now on RCAirGallery!

Hi,

Sorry but the videos are far too large to send by email. I'm not too sure what you are wanting to do with them, can you please explain? Feel free to reply in French.

Hi Jim,

The videos are awesome. Some great flying and the planes are amazing. Hope to burn some kero with you this year. Don't think I will go to far this year, I want to put in alot more flying this year.

Happy Flying

Re: New Videos now on RCAirGallery!

Shooting mostly low and high speed planes for my year end vids. Not too concerned of true 1080P yet, but mostly the camera shake and frame shake. I downloaded those programs you mentioned and gonna try it this weekend with the Hi-def video I recorded from the T1i with all the chop from movement. I know how very long and tedious that this takes and hope people appreciate the time to make these short movies. As it is now it takes me a month to just compile a one hour movie lest the heavy mixing involved in Hi-def...I'm prepared.
I'll look at the Sony and see what it has to offer....and I have 3 TB of space to play with.

Thanks

Re: New Videos now on RCAirGallery!

Ron,

Mine's a Sony. Shoulder mount, but even that is not steady enough for full zoom in on a flying plane. Hence the experiments with Deshaker et al. Deshaker is a plug in for VirtualDub. There's another plug in that is needed in order to open MP4 files in VirtualDub. And the output from VirtualDub is uncompressed AVI. One needs a LOT of disk space to do this kind of editing.

What are you planning to shoot most with a hi-def camera? I note that the one you mention does not output true 1080p hi-def...

Re: New Videos now on RCAirGallery!

Thanks Jim... I assume deshaker is the post-op that eliminates the frame shake in HD during fast tracking? Looking at the Canon HF G10 and wondering what if it will serve my needs for transition from old analog vids to Hi-def vids or is it overkill. Not getting into the movie business. I am impartial to rear viewfinder Hi-def cam as I can't get it smooth enough just looking at a screen. Yours looks like a Panasonic?

Re: New Videos now on RCAirGallery!

Ron, same camera I've been using for the last few years (starting in 2008 ). It's the one in the pic at the end of each vid.

Post processing was a combination of VirtualDub with Deshaker, and when that didn't do it, VooDoo camera tracker with manually input (frame by frame) feature points, exported and run through a custom script to get what Deshaker needs. Lots more to it, but that's the main part. The manual processing took about 1.5 hours per minute of footage. It took about a month of experimenting and trying different configurations and finding the software and writing the scripts to get to where I can do it that fast.

Worth it in the end...
