Re: Tired of waiting to charge those large 6S packs?

Not a bad idea nairbg, but the problem with computer power supplies is that by the time most chargers come anywhere near taking advantage of your 1300 watts, 12 volts doesn't cut it anymore. (even your cellpro is only rated for 515 watts output unless you bump the voltage to 24v)

Ive got a couple Ichargers a 206 and a 206b I think, one's 300 watts, the other is 350 (both 6s chargers). but niether one of them will charge at their max capacity unless you up the voltage.

I run a couple of 24v 400watt ebay power supplies to them. If I remember right they were about 35 US or so each, but it's been a while.

Now I just need some of these lipos that can take a 5c charge and my chargers will seem too small again...... then I can buy a couple of those Icharger 3010 1000wat units..... of course by the time that happens they'll be building batteries that take a 10c charge and....... well you get where I'm going with this.

Why play around? Get a computer server power supply for $50.00 that can output 50A and get a charger that can manage it.

I have a HP PROLIANT DL580 with 1300W @ 12v capacity that I run through a CellPro PowerLab 8 that can handle 50A and charge batteries in parallel at up to 5C, if the battery can take it.

Here's a very educational thread. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...+n+348114r+b21

My power supply is pictured in post #2.

The charger can be found here: http://revolectrix.com/home.htm

Re: Tired of waiting to charge those large 6S packs?

I think it might (but only 3S)! For one 6S pack it charges at 9A. Much better than the 2.2 I was getting before.
Cheers

Yes the price are very reasonable , and the vendor is very helpful. I meet him @ Ejets last weeks in Ohio.
Maybe Great Hobbies sell the charger I'm not sure. If you want to charge @ 15-20 amps make ure you have the right power supply.

I went through the site and could not find any info on their location.

Were the rates to order direct from EP BUDDY reasonable?

Re: Tired of waiting to charge those large 6S packs?

I have the Icharger 106b+ 250w and I can charge a 6s at 10 amp in no time. 50w charger for large pack just don't cut it.
