I have a couple of 3850mA in my gasser heli. Plenty of flying without charging.

+1 to everything posted. I switched everything to hobbico Life packs a few years ago. The only exception now is my HV 2S lipo direct set-up. I'll never buy a regulator again haha.

JP , c'est ce que j'ai dans a peu pres toutes mes avions...

Je peux te preter un pack pour essayer c'est quand meme pas mal plus lourd qu'une lipo
de meme capacite, mais si tu as une avion de bon format c'est une excellente batterie!

Re: LifePo Receiver packs

And you can buy them for $30 if you like Hobbico or you can buy them for under $10 if you're OK with HK.

Vast majority are using them in our club. I am using 2100mah for on board glow and receiver combined since the on-board glow I have operates off 6.6v and draws under an amp.

Pro's....
charge them in the plane.
they don't catch fire.
very, very low self discharge rate.
charge up at high rates if needed.
etc,

con's...
may need a regulator for ignition systems that only go to 6volt.
can't check capacity between flights as they stay at 6.6 forever....then drop off the deep end. To check capacity, take a couple of flights and charge, see how much you put back into them.

I love them!
Same as quoted above......all my nitro planes have them. Been using them for 3 years now and love them. Would never go back to Nicad or Nimh again.

I am using the ones sold by HK, cheap yet very good.
