Re: Replacment servo

Sure you can ... for about four or five minutes ... after that ... you probably should not have done it.

Time to read Servo 101 in the recent Model Airplane News. It is often not as simple as swapping 17g for 17g ... speed, torque, gears ... especially when moving big surfaces and moving them fast in 3D. The rudder servo gets banged around the worse.

Why did the servo fail? Gear train vs Electronics make a huge difference. If the issue was gears, then I am looking for a significant strength update.

Wish it was easy ... get the specs on the old one, ask why it failed, go better.

Replacment servo

I have 3d Plane that uses 17g servos, one of them is striped for rudder, can I replace it with 9g servo? Would that work?
