Re: prop question

Run them both and see if there is an RPM difference.

They have the same diameter and pitch so the only difference will be in the profile of the blades. 3d props tend to be slightly thinner profile and are optimized for high static thrust.

Re: prop question

so like the 3d prop will be better for the 3d plane

Re: prop question

The first variance will be the amount of twist in the blade. The inner part of the prop needs a lot steeper pitch to arrive at the 8" mark in one turn as the tip. One prop could be more efficient during those low speed maneuvers then the other. Check the shape of the leading edge It could be different. A poorly shaped leading edge could cause the prop to unload and loose thrust during those low speed high throttle maneuvers and loose all it's thrust. It is called cavitation and it happens on boats a lot. When it does this the prop noise will change.

Re: prop question

purchase a watt meter. This will give you the best idea of the thrust level and watts consumed for each prop. Watt meter is a must have for an RC electric pilot.

this is a good one 'Watts Up'

IN the meantime, you can use this calculator online for free. Very very handy
