Stryker AV

Ok guys, I finally strapped my Sony Webbie on my Parkzone Stryker and took it for a ride.
It was windy over 20km, not ideal for AV and first try. I was also trying to find correct angle for the lens. I will try again and concentrate on flying flat, it really needs a rudder for this.
Here is a couple of short clips, any longer and it will make you sea sick.
Clip one lens down lower, clip two lens is raised higher.
More testing is required.

I have chopped the videos with Avidemux which seems to make the 'jello effect' in the video much more pronounced then in the original.

Snow? This is Ontario, no snow here!!!! Nice work on the camera Dan. How come Ty wasn't smiling when you flew over? Have to try my camera again soon.

Looks great Dan...much more stable than I would have expected from the Stryker. I stand corrected.

Re: Stryker AV

Thanks all, I will continue more testing to develop a better AV wing, I think it is an ideal platform for AV, Compact, easy to transport, takes any wind, very stable if setup correctly and can fly fairly heavy and still glide well and best of all you can take the camera off after filming, turn up the rates and go crazy!!

Thanks Kermit, since when did you ever see Ty smile?
Actually he just bought the Stryker and after a couple of flights I think we have another 'Wing' convert, he loved it and he did smile when he flew it, he enjoyed himself!

Re: Stryker AV

I was at Hobby Hobby on Saturday, had a look at one in stock. Size is good but the power train and over all weight is a concern, it is pretty hefty. I am doing some reading on the internet about it. there are mixed reactions to it. I sent email to Chris Click about his Zephyr ritewing, he makes them for av and fpv, it is 55" and videos look good. Much simpler and lighter. Getting a price for his kit.
I spent the weekend putting my FunJet back together, left you pictures in visibility thread. Putting the camera on EasyStar for this week, wind were up to 70km this weekend and until Tuesday, so there is no flying.

I really like the look of that Zeno, especially with the folding prop, should be a fun plane. I'm buying a 3D foamie and an Acromaster so the airplane piggy bank is empty so it will have to wait. :)
