The default settings of HC doesn't always work for everyone.

It'll be much easier if you were to download the software from HeliCommand.

It's free but you will need a serial adapter to USB.

From what you've mentioned on the symptoms it seems the gain is way too high and it's probably on "position" hold.

Whether you choose position or horizontal hold you will have to be able to adjust the gain. Having a 6ch TX limits your options. You will have to choose one or the other and will have to set a curve. The curve will have to done at the field and test flying for every adjustment.

It's also advisable to be able to use the autotrim function. I'm not familiar with your TX but it's something you should look into.

Have a look at this thread from RunRyder. It's a step by step set of HC with a 12z. It may not apply to you but it may give you some ideas.
