Its good to see guys are still liking and building these GP Learjet kits. Nemesis
Since you are building wing now make sure you add flaps to it or you will be rolling full runway lenght before it will rotate!. I've heard from few who had these that unless grass runway is 400' long it won't rotate. What type of engine are you planning to use on it?. |

not sure what rotate means, but it will have alerons. [/quote] Rotate means, when the nose wheels first lift off the ground. Good luck with the build. Daren |
sammy, childish is telling someone to modify a perfectly good airframe( theres hundreds out there built as per the plans that fly perfectly) cause you heard that it needed flaps. since you never owned or flew one your in no position to give advice. mine took off from grass in less than 100' on an old os 35, end of story... nemesis keep up the nice work...rob m

Yes that's pretty much what "Rotate" means.
I noticed you are installing mechanical retracts on this model. If I may suggest if you are going to fly of grass runway then make sure you add a lot of reinforcement to the retract rails on the wings now or there is good chance rails would rip off the wing on slightest hard landing. A friend had a Spitfire that was equipped with these types of rails and retracts, after one crosswind hard landing one of the rails ripped out, he tried many ways to reglue them but area become weak and brittle. Well it wasn't a good lander again to the point he got rid of the model. |
