Glow igniter recharging?
I've got a Du-Bro glow igniter equipped with a sanyo sc1300 batt.
It's du-bro catalog # 666 I want to cycle it with my Accu-Cycle Anyone know what to set it at? Thanks to all who reply SteveO |

Great site: http://www.rcbatteryclinic.com/ Especially http://www.rcbatteryclinic.com/seminar.htm If you're in a hurry, read the "Charging" and "Discharging" sections as a minimum. What model Acu-Cycle do you have? Can it be set to single cell? I seem to remember the early models only supported "typical" flightpacks (8 cell for tx, 4-5 cell for Rx). |
Thanks Jim, It's an "accu-cycle' pro series
The reciever side can be set for 1 cell charge rates 25-50-125 discharge can be set at 250 or 500 The igniter battery is 1300-1450 mah so I'm thinking 125 charge? rate Discharge rate?? Any ideas? SteveO |
Rate
The simple answer would be C/10 which is 1300/10 = 130 MaH

Thanks, Is that charge or discharge?
I have a choice of 250 or 500 for dicharge. Does any one do this with their glow igniters or am I just overdoing things? SteveO |
Just charge it up. They get used enough to be called cycled. If they fail, it's not critical. I totally abuse mine, cause I always forget to charge it up. Then I throw it on a charger at about a 2A rating, which is really hard on the single cells.

125mah charge is fine, so is 500mah discharge, both are very conservative for this battery.

Thanks for your help Guys!

You're not overdoing things. I cycle and charge my glow igniter before I head off to events. Which reminds me, I need to go do that right now before I head down to Bay of Quinte this weekend... :-) ...jim |
You're welcome SteveO. Happy flying. 8)
