Need help with a Jato 3.3!
Hey Everyone
My Jato has been basically in pieces for about 2 years now and I finally got around to fixing it up. Now admittedly I had taken no precautions when putting it away and the engine was filthy. I brought it out of storage the other day and had a look at the parts i needed to replace to get it up and running (It was a massive crash that demolished the better half of the car that made me put it in storage). After getting all the parts and a couple small upgrades, I finally got it to kick over and roar to life. I put a pull start system in so it is much different then i am use to, but I love it already. My major concern right now is that it stinks when it is running, like burned ****. I understand there is prob a ton of grime in the engine that is burning out, but should I just keep running it and let it burn out... or totally dissemble the whole thing and clean it? In addition to the smell, it seems to be hard to start right now where it will turn over and then die a couple seconds later. Of course i can blame this on what i assume is a nasty engine, but any suggestion on what this could be? High speed and low speed needle were both put back to factory before i started it up. I don't know what factory is for the idle screw so i didn't touch it. Thanks in advanced for any help! |
