Yeah, I suppose it is "about time". Given that most of the glue joints were done over 20 years ago, I fully expected that the damn thing would breakup in mid-air. That's why I had Johnny fly the maiden, if it broke up it would be his fault.;) It's always pilot error ... isn't it???

Hi Ron,
I took some measurements off the plan. Length (firewall to rudder hinge) is 43 inches and cowl would add an additional 3.5 inches. Wingspan is 72 inches and the kit was designed for a .40 to .45 2-stroke so it was a bit of a challenge to fit the Saito .62. The engine is a little too long for the cowl leaving the prop about 1/4 inch too far ahead of the cowl.

I don't think Unionville produces this kit any more. I purchased mine about 1992 and most of the costruction was done over the winter of 1992/93, so no build posts.

If you need any more info feel free to ask.

Nearest "balsa grinder" is more than half a km away - probably closer to 1km away. While I don't think TransAlta would appreciate it, I keep thinking of the challenge it would be to fly through the blades.
